Last term I was learning about the Trojan war. I had to research to find information and use keywords then write it in my own words.  I also had to create a clay model and mine was the Trojan horse. Something that challenged me was finding the info for my report and writing it in my own words.

 Have you ever wondered about the Trojan war and how it started? Well that is what my report tells you.
 I have also made an artifact of the inside of the Trojan city with the Trojan horse. I have stretched my perseverance muscle because I kept remaking my gate and horse because it kept breaking.

I have been learning find out information about my athlete Ryan Taylor. Something that challenged me was to use key words to write informartion in my own words. I found out it is illegal to copy someones elses work so I had to restart some information. I stretched my revising muscle by going back and making changes.

I am proud of my maths task because I worked really hard on it to make it my personal best.
What  learnt was to to find different ways to make more multiplication like 4 groups of 15 = 50.  Something that challenged  me was to figure out the maths questions like 4 groups of 7.

Totara hub has been learning about Matariki and the seven sisters. I learnt that the seven sisters have special things about them, and that Waifi and Wasita are sisters. We also did little workshops like how to build roses out of flax and painting on rocks. I was in the rose making and then the stones. It was really fun making the flowers even if it was really tricky, well not for Alex, he got perfect on his own. I found it really tricky so I had help from Miss Jackett.

WALT summarise. Summarising helps us to understand ideas in a text.

When we are summarising we use key words and phrases toretell the main points of a text.

Summarise what this story is about using five sentences. In each sentence use one of the key words; Pine forest, magpie, rescue, splint, pet.

Splinters is a story about a magpie called Splinter. Splinter likes to fly in the pine forests. Splinter broke his leg so he needed a splint to help his leg stay strait. Splinter was rescued by a boy named Edward. Edward decided to keep Splinters as a pet.

Introduction: have you ever tried to grow your own disgusting mould?  Be Careful tho (though) some mold is toxic and some good moulds need certain things to grow so it's like a plant. To grow mould its needs to be a fair experiment or it won't be science. If you want to make your own revolting mould then read on

Equipment for testing air

1. 3  zip lock bags
2. 3 labels
3. 3 pieces of fruit (the same)
4. A tooth pick
5. A sharpie

Steps

1. Put one of the fruits in a ziplock bag and close it
2. Poke 10  holes in the bag with a toothpick
3. Then label it air some
4. Put the 2nd fruit the 2nd ziplock bag.
5. Push all the air out of the bag and then shut it.
6. Then label it air none
7. Put the last fruit in the last bag and keep it open
8. Then label it air lots
9. Then put them in a safe place like on a table
10. Last make since that say do not touch or smell stay away.

What was challenging was to get the equipment ready and putting the experiment together. I am proud of my experiment because me and my group worked really hard on the experiment to make it a fair test. A fair test is where you only change one thing.

I am proud of my I am poem because It really tells the about me and what I like. What I learnt was how to write good poems. Here is the example that helped me. What explained me in my poem was how much I liked skateboarding and I put detail in there by telling the reader who I am and what I think and believe.

Technology Prototype

I am proud of my technology prototype because I put a lot of effort into making it stand with out it flopping down for my tech I made a skate park because I was doing fun in the bush. It was fun making my skate park prototype. I used cardboard for the floor and the ramps and straws for the railings and I cut a egg tray to make a base for a mini skate board and I cut 4 straws to make the wheels and I used tape and hot glue to stick it all together. What I learnt was how to make cardboard stand better. I also learnt to ask questions of my self and ask teachers to help me or try to find out myself. I changed my plan lots of times as my ideas changed and got better.  I added lots of extra parts to the skatepark to make it more fun for people. 

Camp blog

This is my blog post about camp.On the first day we got all of are stuff then got into are car groups. After a while we sopped at a park.The park was fun there was a flying fox some slides and more. After a few mints of play we played games like football and rounders. After that we went back to the cars and carried on to camp.

What I liked about camp was the beds because they were really comfy.







2nd day and some year 5's and 6's went to weka and I was one of them. I didn't like the way to Weka because it was really high and I'm scared of heights.
At Weka we had marshmallows and we went eeling. In the morning some of the kids went tubing.

Something that challenged me was to hide in sardine spotlight because we had to hide in the same spot and people kept turning there lights on. I found it really hard to be quiet in spotlight. Plus I really like the dark so spotlight was really fun.










On the last day of camp we got all of the stuff and went to the swimming pools. I had a really fun time at the pool there was a slide, a spa, a diving poll and a kids pool. There was also a outside water park that was fun is well.


What I a achieved at camp was to learn what to do when we go camping because I have never been camping. I also learnt that I should bring warm clothes to camp especially when it rains because you get freezing in the rain..

I am learning to share information about a book a like. Something that challenged me was choosing what parts to write to share with someone else. I only wanted to tell a bit about the story so the person could read and find out on their own.

Pokemon Presentation

           
I am proud of my presentation about Pokemon because it shares my prior knowledge about something I really like. Something that was challenging to me was to not get a bunch of images. Next time I would not get as many images and have more information about Pokemon.
I learnt that information is more important than making it look cool.

Making RWC Cakes

This Week on are home learning we could cook a dish from your country in the RWC. i chose to make a cake for this

task.What I used to make the cake is 4 eggs, flower, caster, suger, butter, chocolate chips and carmel flavoring. 

We put all the ingredents into a bowl and mixed it with a whisk, we put the cake  mix into cake holders. After that we put them into the oven for 20 minutes. We then decorated the cakes with the logo of the english rugby team.  My mum helped me make the rose so i could put it on the cake.This is what the finished cakes look like.

Sports Practice

for this task i practice basketball out side in my front garden with my hole family. i scored 3 points 3 times, i also learnt how to dribble the ball. This is a picture of me scoring :)

My random act of kindness

What i did for my random act of kindness was to make a cup of tea for my mum and dad. To  make the cup of tea you fill the kettle with water. Then you turn it and get a cup. After put 1 tea bag into the cup and add sugar only if wanted. When the kettle is boiled poor the water into the cup and add a tiny bit of milk. Finally i steered the cup of tea and then took the tea bags out.
